The market for programmable DSP chips reached the $6 billion mark in 2003, up some 24% over 2002. We predict an even healthier 25% growth over that level for 2004, but that’s a market dominated by four companies: Agere, Analog Devices, Motorola/SPS Spinco, and Texas Instruments. What most people don’t realize is that constitutes just over a third of the $16.4 billion market for all DSP-centric integrated circuits. The Author

Will Strauss, President of Forward Concepts, is the author of this report. Mr. Strauss is an internationally-recognized authority on markets driven by DSP technology. Prior to founding Forward Concepts, he was Executive VP of In-Stat, Inc. and was earlier VP of Market Research for Integrated Circuit Engineering Corp. He has worked in communications design, marketing and sales. He has an Electrical Engineering degree from Georgia Tech and a Masters degree in business from Southern Methodist University.
